Question *

How often should i charge my batteries?
For daily users, it is important to charge their equipment on a daily basis, especially those who use their devices outside of their homes frequently. This ensures that the device is always ready for use when needed. On the other hand, occasional users should ensure to charge their mobility equipment before heading out for an outing and after active use. It is recommended to recharge the battery when it reaches around 50% on the gauge of the device to ensure optimal battery life.
How do i charge my batteries correctly?
To ensure your mobility battery is charged properly, it's important to follow some simple procedures. Firstly, always use the automatic charger provided by the manufacturer for all routine charging. Secondly, avoid using an automotive or wet-type charger on Gel or sealed batteries, as it can quickly damage your battery. It's also important to never run your battery completely flat and avoid "topping off" the battery with frequent charging. By following these simple procedures, you can ensure that your mobility battery stays in good condition and lasts longer.
How should i store my battery?
It's important to keep in mind some tips for storing batteries properly. Firstly, always make sure to store your batteries fully charged. Additionally, it's recommended to check all batteries once a month and recharge them as needed. Wet batteries can hold their charge up to 3 months, while sealed batteries can hold a charge for up to 6 months. If you plan on storing a chair or scooter for more than 2 weeks, it's best to charge the batteries fully and then disconnect them. Lastly, try to avoid exposing the batteries to extreme hot or cold temperatures when storing them.
Why are my new batteries not travelling the distance I thought they would?
Our Gel batteries are made with thicker plates than other batteries. Itis because of these thick plates that we are able to get a longer cyclelife from our Gel batteries. The downside is that it takes longer forall the material inside these plates to become active. It takesapproximately 15-25 cycles to break the battery in.
Can i over discharge my batteries?
In short 'YES'.These are some great tips to follow if you want to ensure the longest life for your battery system. One important factor to note is that the shallower the average discharge, the longer the life of the battery. It's recommended to size the battery system to deliver at least twice the energy required to ensure shallow discharges. Also, avoid ultra-deep discharges, which can vary with application and battery type. It's important not to leave a battery at a low state of charge for an extended period of time and to charge a discharged battery as soon as possible. Additionally, it's not recommended to cycle a battery at a low state of charge without regularly fully recharging it. Finally, use the highest initial charging current available, up to 30% of the 20-hour capacity per hour, while staying within the proper temperature-compensated voltage range. By following these tips, you can help ensure that your battery system lasts as long as possible.
